For most of his life Mark has been studying and learning an art medium. As a child, he watched his grandfather sketch simple yet beautiful pen and ink covered bridges. While growing up, he watched his Mom grab time from raising eight kids to dabble in pastel and oil painting. In his teenage years, he was often recruited by his Dad to help paint sets and backdrops for the theatrical productions his Dad directed. He also furthered his studies at Indiana University, The Art Institute of Chicago and was fortunate to study life drawing while working at The Disney Studios. Over the years Mark has been commissioned for works of mural, fine art and calligraphy. Mark's pen & ink artwork has been reproduced and printed as holiday cards for the past 20 years. They have been compiled into a collection appropriately named MARKARDS. With these note cards he founded the company lasting impressions. Mark resides in Burbank, California.
Joe Seney is a graduate of the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore, Maryland. An art lover as a youngster, Joe always thought it would be fun to pursue art professionally. He has been doing this work since being discharged from the service in 1954. The magical GI Bill allowed him to spend four years at the Institute. After graduating, Joe spent time in the San Francisco Bay area experimenting in a variety of art techniques. In the last few years, Joe has spent time traveling with his wife, Mary Anne, through many old mining towns of the west. These excursions have helped to form his distinct style of southwest images. Initially, sketching in pen & ink, Joe then returns to his studio to create the marvelous watercolors reproduced as note cards. Joe's artwork has been displayed in many galleries from northern California to his present home in Prescott, Arizona. Many gift shops in Prescott exhibit his work and also have available T-shirts and note cards.
Mary Anne Seney is a self-taught artist. Her wildflower paintings are created with colored pencils and reflect the springs blossoms she has witnessed during her travels through the west. Mary Anne shares a spacious studio with her husband and artist, Joe Seney in their self-designed hilltop home twenty miles northwest of Prescott, Arizona. She and her husband spend much of the year traveling, sketching and gathering material for their art. The original sketches of Mary Anne can be seen in many local Prescott museums and gift shops. Her Spring Blossom collection has elegantly been transferred to note cards and we are pleased to add her work to the cards we now offer.
Peggy Wattenbarger feels her creativeness comes from her genes. Her mother worked as a professional artist and one of her sisters is a freelance artist. Quilting was Peggy's avocation for almost 25 years. During this time she worked as a mathematician, computer programming analyst, marketing specialist and director of graphic arts for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. In the world of traditional quilting Peggy was a restless spirit. She wasn't always satisfied with the predictability and repetition of the patterns of traditional quilting. It wasnt until she encountered the Bargello technique in a quilting class that the she found a satisfying outlet for expression. Peggy's quilts come from her own design and color scheme. We are very happy to offer Peggy's quilt designs reproduced on noted cards. We think you will find each design to be visually stimulating and a unique presentation for your correspondence. A native of Bethesda, Maryland, Peggy presently resides in Tampa, Florida with her husband, Frank.
As a kid in Indiana, Dennis would take his mothers camera into the woods to photograph trees, flowers and animals. Encouraged by family and friends, Dennis continued his hobby of photography into adulthood and has maintained his interest in nature as his main subject. Being an avid hiker, Dennis is always happening upon magnificent vistas, spring flowers and the other surprises provided by his surrounding. "Mother Nature created awe inspiring beauty for us to enjoy," says Dennis. The photography of Dennis Chamberlain makes a stunning impression on his greeting cards.
A southern California native, Art has been taking photos since
he received a camera as a High School graduation gift from his parents.
Almost twenty years later, Art still is shooting and enjoying the thrill of
making creative images. Working in the entertainment industry as a Visual
Effects practitioner on major television shows, Art takes time off from his busy
schedule and unwinds by taking still photos. Entirely self-taught, he takes
pride in the fact that he feels comfortable shooting any type of subject whether
it is beautiful scenery, serious photojournalism or just simple family
snapshots. Art's photos have appeared in Popular Photography and the Daily
News amongst other publications. |
